Every voluntary and community sector organisation whether large or small must commit considerable amounts of time to fundraising activity. Having worked extensively in the voluntary sector and also having worked in a commissioning role in the public sector I have a comprehensive understanding of the variety of ways of generating income including grant applications, tendering for public sector contracts or commercial sponsorship generation.
Some examples of fundraising successes that I have led or been involved in:
· £5million lottery award leading to a national networked project
· £350,000 award from the Football Foundation
· £80,000 award from Department of Health, Section 64 Grant Scheme (now third sector investment programme)
· Sponsorship from a major motor manufacturer resulting in company cars for charity staff
· £30,000 contract with a local authority for a charity to deliver a project focusing on person centred planning
· A wide variety of Awards for All applications including £6,000 to support an allotment society to invest in infrastructure
Having also worked in a commissioning function I have overseen a range of tender processes, grant programmes and other mechanisms of distributing public sector funds.
In my work I focus clearly on the outcomes of delivery and will structure any fundraising activity in this way as this is how the vast majority of applications are assessed.
I can offer voluntary and community sector organisations a range of support to generate income. The details of this are summarised in the table below:
